 "Garmin Nuvi 265WT Review" 2010-09-07
By Mystrow
First, this is a good product to have...sure beats not having to print up a map any time you need to travel to an unknown destination.

Menus:

The menus can be deeply embedded...I can see why it warns you not to adjust while driving. There should be way to select your menu item, then be able to jump right back to the map. You shouldn't have to reverse navigate your menu choices to get back to the map.

Favorites:
There's no option (that I've seen yet) that allows you to sort your favorites menu. HOME appears at the top of the menu, & that's good, since you'll be traveling to that location more than any other. However, if you enter a favorite via the "Coordinates" menu, all Coordinates Favorites jump to the top of the menu, pushing all your other Favorites to the bottom. There should be a way to sort your favorites by each user's in order of preference.

Where To:
This is the most annoying part of this system. Once the Nuvi picks a route, it won't stop trying to implement that that route, or any sub-route along that route. It would be nice to be able to drag an alternate route, like Google Earth. If not that, at least have a sub-routine that monitors a route that you take, then offers it as alternate route to the Nuvi's recommendation.

Map Upgrades:
Garmin only gives you the map that's loaded in the system. It would be nice to offer at least one free map upgrade for the following year.

 "Garmin Nuvi GPS 265WT" 2010-09-07
By Michael
I like the fact that it gives street names. The upside: It got me to a couple of important appointments so I didn't have to stress over written directions from the internet. The downside: on a few occasions (I've only used it 5 times), this GPS chooses routes that take a lot longer than they should. In cases where I knew the way to go, I tried the recommended route & it turned out to be a bad idea.

 "Very good GPS" 2010-09-06
By Juan Gonzalez Suarez
This is one of the best GPS I have ever used, I didn't have to read the manual to get it working. I think it has a very good price to value ratio. This is a very good buy if you need a simple featured GPS.

i got this for navigating through New York City area, but found that it did not pick up any of the traffic jams we ran into. in the DC area, it has worked for me, re-routing around traffic jams on main routes. but for city streets at rush hour, it was way off. another complaint about long distance travel-- it often would tell me that i was turning in X miles onto... the same route! just annoying. but I have to say, it does get me where i want to go. i've had no problems with accuracy of maps. the refurbished unit i got seems like new.

 "Love it" 2010-09-06
By Nom de Plume
Just bought this, and I love it. It's very easy to use and to set up. The only downside is that I have a convertible, and with top down and surrounding noise, it's a bit hard to hear sometimes. I live in an area where cars are regularly broken into to steal GPSs, so I like that the suction cup holder is easy to remove from the windshield..and that the GPS itself is thin and fits into my purse or into the glove compartment. "Daniel" realizes quickly when I get off his route and recalculates quickly. I suppose it would be nice to have a "stay off major highways" option, but I'm not sure if any GPS offers that .
